White Collar – “By the Book” and “Unfinished Business”

I’ve been watching “White Collar” with half an eye at lunch, but I loved Mozzie’s bursts of courage and high-speed competence in this last episode. The introduction of the idea that he’s quite capable of quick action opens all sorts of possibilities. I really hope they capitalize on that.
I do, too. Mozzie has sold himself to be a criminal mind with a wealth of experience over the last season and a half but has never really proven it. He’s always so skittish you wonder how he was ever a confidence man but he showed some flashes of brilliance when pushed. I’m not sure what they’ll do in order to capitalize on it (maybe put him and Neal on a mission together?) but I like to see it almost as much as I like Mozzie playing Neal’s lawyer.
Nick, as always, you do a stellar job reviewing the show, so stellar that it makes me think I should catch up on this season, but the awful taste that “Hard Sell” left in my mouth stops me every time.
At least your reviews allow me to keep up with the show. And that’s what matters (for me anyway).
I don’t think you really need to catch up. I do encourage you to watch “Out of the Box” (last season’s finale) for the cheesy plane explosion, skip around to the Peter and Mozzie scenes this season, and then watch all of “By the Book.” The episode is that good.
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your well-thought out White Collar reviews. I’m not able to watch the episodes as they air, so I appreciate being able to read your posts and know that waiting for the episode is worth it. Reading your views lets me think about angles I might not have thought of on my own.
Thank you for your reviews, and I look forward to reading them!
